The past few days have been spent with two of the most wonderful of people, Guido and Andrea, both from Germany. We wandered around Ko Phi Phi, took a boat (again) to 'the Beach' from the film, snorkeled, etc. I've joined Guido now for Koh Pangan (we miss you Andrea!) where he had booked a hut that turns out to be right on the beach... classically rustic but quite nice in that way. Stray dogs wandering the beach, and we can see Koh Samui 12kms away across the water. We'll be here for 4 days before Guido heads back to Germany and I continue on elsewhere, although in a couple nights is a moon party that should be interesting.
Here are cats in the fridge; same place as on Departures: Thailand.
Okay, time for one picture. Perhaps it is not in the initial moment that we feel love or hatred or joy or pain, because it passes before it can be realized; rather, it is in the moments that follow, in the legacy of the first, that they have their true bearing upon our lives.

Cheers, Ryan.
You went to a kick boxing match?
ReplyDeleteseveral, at a bar where it's free to enter and amateurs can get in the ring to fight their friends for free drinks, and where the occasional professional fights (albeit seeming rather staged at times).
ReplyDeleteThere is a ring where you can fight your friends for free drinks?! How badly do you have to beat on your friends to actually get the drinks for free?
ReplyDeleteYup, there exists such a place. You don't have to destroy them. Other people just find other random people, but one time a guy, who was clearly just fooling around (drunk frat boy) got in the ring with a guy who, right away, gave him a round-house kick to the head, after which the drunk frat boy told the guy that he was only playing around, so from then on in the other guy didn't even touch him and the drunk frat boy just jumped around like a clown. People started booing. Other times, it's good, though.
