Tea Time

Life has been okay up here in the Cameron Highlands. Being away from the humidity is nice, but there has been a lot of rain. Still, the mist on the mountains, the affordability of this area (currently living on less than $10 a day), and the overall relaxing vibe has made it worth a few days. Yesterday was sunny so I headed out to a tea plantation, although unfortunately was unable to get photographically close to the couple workers in the field (thus a distance shot). Still, here are a few pics from the day. Note that the Mercedes are taxis. Today i'll recharge some batteries, write this blog post, and plan my departure probably for tomorrow to George Town, on Penang Island, located on the west coast; it is an old colonial city, and after a few nights there I'll fly to Jakarta, Indonesia to meet up with my boys arriving the same day to shoot a Departures episode. No doubt we'll get up to some funness and hopefully that'll include scuba diving. Last time we scuba'd it was in a ex-rock quarry just outside of Kingston, Ontario, within sight of Highway 401, no doubt Indonesia will be quite different.
